Our first rescue was given to us from a good friend going through chemo that couldn’t keep her due to treatments. He gave her to us in 2009 when she was almost a year old… she was so cute. Nischa as we decided to call her is buff/white and wouldn’t you know it, quickly became “daddy’s girl.” I’m not sure if it was Nischa or my request but there seemed to come a point where I thought Nischa needed a companion. Nicha had a lot of energy and we quickly thought a little sister would help with that and tire her out.
It became an impossible mission, finding a Pomeranian where we live turned out to be more than we thought. We searched for well over a year at all the rescues, but no luck. We believe strongly in rescuing dogs because there are so many wanting and begging dearly for a nice forever home where they can be loved. No puppy mills or breeders for this family… oh no.
We finally hit the jack pot… our wait was over. The second we saw her she grabbed our hearts. Boo as her owners called her… which we later named Lonnie-Boo, was going to get a forever loving home and become a awesome sidekick and companion for Nischa… we just knew it.
Her owners were MADLY in love with her but they worked such long hours that they found that she was locked in a kennel about 14 hours a day… no way to treat such a beautiful baby. Her former owners thought it would be better to give her to a home that could give her more attention. We contacted them and picked up our new angel a week later after Nischa was able to meet her new sister.
You wouldn’t believe that happened a year ago… it’s still as vivid as the day we got the both of them. I would have NEVER believed that two Poms that are so tiny could complete my life SO much. They are mommy and daddy’s little angels and they brighten our lives everyday. I am thankful every waking moment that they were able be part of our life.

Beautiful story! Love RESCUE stories! I appreciate how you waited so happy they complete your lives, all my furkids complete mine.
You guys are awesome! We are so happy and confident that we made the right decision. They look so awesome together! Thanks for continuing to love our little girl and for letting us be a part of her life still!
I too took in a puppy because the family’s son got sick when he got around the puppy, but she was a Yorkie. Well after over a year maybe 2, Tootsie gets a boy friend, he was a pom and they had 4 children I keep one and sold the other 3, not sure why we keep him, besides he was so darn cute, and another thing is we thought that tootsie needed a friend, his name is Zoom and he looks more like his dad in fact people ask me if he is a pom all the time and I keep him cut like a pom. Here is the deal Zoom is 2 now and he still acts like a 7 month old maybe because his mother still treats him like her puppy, but my husband and i aren’t much help we baby him to, but I like you do not know what I would do with out them Zoom has kept Tootsie forever young and they have keep us forever happy.
we have a pom and he will be 6 years old jan. 4 he is the love of our life dont know what we would do without him. we love him so much.
I know the owners of Lonni-boo & Nischa, personally. She is my best friend for 20 years. She is a wonderful mommy to her pets. She spoils them with alot of love and companionship. She sometimes doggie sits for my two little ones as well. I own a dachshund, & a shitzu. Both were abandoned by their old owner. We took them in as our own, and made them a permanent part of our lives. There is no other person in this world, that I know, who loves our animals more than we do.
