I was just about to get in my car when I hear a knock on my front door. I walk to to front door to discover my neighbor, she was telling my husband and I that she had one of our Pomeranians in her back yard! My heart skipped a beat (not in a good way) I quickly did a “tail count” 1,2,3 Pommy Tails! (Sigh of relief) Every one is here I told her, humm but that means that there is a lost dog in my neighbors back yard! My hubby and I quickly went next door to help! (My neighbor is more of a cat person…)
When I walked into her back yard, I discovered this cute black and white dog.
I was able to get close to him, he was very friendly. Looking at him a little more, I recognized him, he lived 4 houses down from the Pommy Mommy Home! I had spotted him on the side of the road sitting by his house last Spring. Turned out “Charlie Bug” likes to dig, and dug a hole right under his gate and escaped! I was thinking that the same thing happened this time! So off we went to take Charlie Bug home. When we knocked on the door there was no answer. We called the number on his tag and left a message saying that Charlie Bug is safe with us at the house on the corner! We left our phone number and address and brought the escapee into the back yard to meet the Pomeranian’s and wait for his mom and dad to come home and get him.
Oh the Pomeranian’s had a field day with their new “friend” Maggie was first to meet Charlie, I let her into the back yard to check him out. She greeted him the appropriate way…AKA Sniffing the booty! She barked at him to let him know that this is her yard!!! Yoki and Sophia were going crazy behind the sliding glass door confined in the kitchen. After Maggie settled down, I let out the other two attack Pomeranian’s! They started to “mark their spot” on the grass every five seconds! They barked and fussed at Charlie, however he didn’t seem to mind!
I didn’t know how long he had been out so I put out a fresh bowl of water for him to drink. (After all, we do live in a desert!) He lapped the water up and licked the bowl clean! So I gave him a refill, refills are always free at the Pommy Mommy Home!!! An hour passed and I hear a woman yelling “Charlie!!! Where are you, Charlieeee!!!” My hubby runs outside and flags them down! (Guess they didn’t check their phone messages yet) The couple was so thankful that we had their Charlie! His tail was wagging when he saw the woman. She scooped him up in her arms and he started giving her wet sloppy kisses all over! Charlie was going home! The Pomeranian’s were sad to see that their afternoon entertainment had ended…but there’s always tomorrow! Something new and exciting is always happening in a home with three fluffy rescue Pomeranian’s!!!
Such a good feeling to reunite a lost dog and their owner!
