Surprise!!! The rumors are true!!!
Two Pomeranian Brothers have found a forever home with the Pommy Mommy family! Sometimes life just takes you by surprise, and that was the case with our two new rescue brothers Luka and Niko!
Go grab your Pommy, cozy up, and I’ll tell you all about how these boys won us over!
It all started the two days after we brought our little Mika home from the SPCA here in Nevada. I had scheduled a visit with our family Vet for Mika to have her all checked out and get more heart medication for the heart murmur she developed… so we needed to get her medical records because they were not in her file.
We rescued Mika on November 28th and went back to pick up her records on November 30th at 4:45pm – fifteen minutes before closing.
We walk in and saw Maria, the woman who helped us rescue Mika, she gave us the medical records and explained what the paperwork meant. When she was finished, she decided to mention to me that someone just dropped off 2 small Pomeranians a few hours ago. She said the owner claimed that they had no time for them… and just left them there. I could not resist the temptation to go and look at them. I was afraid that I would fall instantly in love with them… but I still asked… “Can we go see them?” Ahhh the five little words that can change your life forever!
My husband and I made our way down the ramp that leads to a hallways filled with cages of dogs… all shapes and sizes. Maria stops at a cage and points at the two tiny Poms wagging their tails, looking up at us scared to death. Maria opened the cage and we each took one into our arms. They were GRIPPING us with their little paws (like they had fingers) holding on for dear life, meanwhile showering us with kisses. We both wanted to take them right then, however since they just got there, they still had to go through processing. Rabies, micro-chip… etc. Their hair was extremely matted with urine and poop stuck to it. They smelled like someone had been neglecting them for a very long time. After being nearly kissed to death, we had to give them back to Maria… our hearts sank. It was closing time for the SPCA, so with big frowny faces we left as the little “black one” let out a yip as we walked away… just to pierce our hearts one more time.
