Every so often I purchase a new dress our outfit for the girls. (Okay you caught me, it’s not every so often, more like once a week!) I love Pomeranian fashion more than people fashion! The girls can be dressed up in so many cute and colorful outfits!! Today I’m going to show you how I set up photo shoots for the pictures I take for the girls!
First thing you need to do is pick a theme. Here are a few examples of themes to get you started if you want to
create your own.
1.Birthday Party
2. Princess or Prince Party
3.Black and White Photo Session
4.Close Up
5. Fun in the Sun
6.Fashion Show
Next you need to pick out accessories for the photo shoot. If you decided to do a birthday party photo shoot you will need to gather a few supplies before you start snapping pictures. Make sure to include dog size party hats, streamers, dog treats, and balloons. The color of the accessories will make your pictures “POP” and have them come to life!
After all of the fun accessories are picked out pick a location for the photo shoot. I usually enjoy doing mine outside (weather permitting) The natural light in the afternoon is great for photos. Set up a small area that you want to take the pictures at. Place all of the accessories in this area before you start taking pictures.
After everything is set up and in place, introduce your Pomeranian to the area. More than likely he or she will want to sniff all of the accessories. Let them get used to the new area. Once they have checked everything out tell them to sit and stay. (If this doesn’t work, you may have to borrow an extra set of hands to help you hold your Pomeranian. Right before you snap the pictures have your friend/spouse remove their hands from the dog.) Say cheese!!!
If you’re Pomeranian won’t look at the camera use treats as “bait” to get them to look your way. Another thing that you can use if you don’t want to use treats is take some pennies and put them in an empty soup can. When your’e ready to snap the pictures shake the can to get their attention!
After you have finished snapping pictures (I usually take 30-50 per session) go through all of the pictures and pick out the best ones! Happy Snapping! If you have any questions or comments on photo shoots your your Pomeranian let me know by commenting below!
