I’ve heard it time and time again, your Pomeranian should not sleep with you in the bed. This I know, however some nights (okay, more like every night) I just can’t resist a sweet furry face looking up at me on the bed with those sad puppy dog eyes!
I enjoy having a “slumber party” with the girls when their daddy is out of town, however for some strange reason, Sophia loves to get as close to the edge of the bed as possible when she sleeps. She even fell off of the bed one night. I was so worried, however she just shook it off and started down the hallway like nothing happened. I knew I didn’t want this to happen again.
I was trying to think what I could do to prevent her from falling off! I did my best to “train” her to sleep in the middle of the bed but she resisted and would go waddling back over to the edge. I was thinking it would be awesome if they had king size guard rails that kids use when they go into their “big kid bed” This way Sophia could get as close to the edge of the bed as she wanted and I wouldn’t have to worry about her falling off and injuring herself.

Head Rest for Sophia
When I was searching online to see if any invention even existed, no such luck. I didn’t need something HUGE to protect Sophia from falling off the bed. She’s three pounds, she would just stretch out and fall off the bed, not like she was jumping off voluntarily. I was walking in the store and saw some pool toys and a “noodle” caught my eye! You know those long cylinder foam tubes that are brightly colored and hollow used for kids when they play at the pool. I decided to purchase one and place it under the fitted sheet on the edge of the bed.
They work perfect!!!! Turns out Sophia actually enjoys them and they double for a little pillow for her! I find her little head resting on them every night. She’s such a doll baby. If you are having the same problem with your Pomeranian I highly suggest you try this little trick first! For around $2.00 you can’t beat it.
