This weeks rescue story is all about TWO sweet Pomeranians Bambi and Kurtis!!! I love the pictures their mommy posts of them on Instagram and had to share their story! Make you visit the previous post and find out all about Kurtis! Bambi’s “brother”
Part 2
Meet Bambi!!!
Looking for a grooming job, Peggy (For those of you just tuning in, Peggy is the mom of Bambi and Kurtis) found a woman who was needing help grooming her Pomeranains, Peggy was up for the challenge! (With 16 plus years of professional grooming experience under her belt she was eager to step up!) When Peggy walked into the home she was greeted with over 40 adult Pomeranians and COUNTLESS pom puppies!!!! (Wow! Pomeranian overload!!) The person that Peggy was helping was a Pomeranian breeder who would keep the boys separate from the girls and have lots of food and water for the Pomeranains. The person would breed the pomeranains and would only sell ONE puppy from the litter! When they did sell a puppy it would sell for $1200.00-$3000.00!!!! Needless to say not many Pomeranian’s were sold.
Peggy did her best grooming the Pomeranains and socialized with them. She said most of the poms were lacking socialization and hands on time and were in need of care. They were kept in a rooms with gates in the doorway. Peggy said “The adults were so sweet but also needed the touch of a human heart that truly cared about there well being.”
One day the breeder fell ill and was no longer able to take care of the many Pomeranians. Dogs were given to friends and family members. Peggy had a chance to give a Pomeranian puppy a good home! She decided on a cute Pomeranain girl puppy and named her Bambi! Peggy said she was in need of love! Lots of love, handling and good food. She said that Bambi was pretty shy for about a day. It wasn’t long before she was in the pack. (Peggy has been an animal rescuer all her life! She has rescued several dogs, cats, even squirrels!!!) Peggy said that Bambi now takes on the “Mama Hen” roll, as she loves everyone in her little pack, she kisses everyone of the “pack members” everyday. Peggy said, “She is just so glad to be loved and cared for. Giving out kisses is her way of giving back!”
