We found our Sweet Lily a week after our beloved Pomeranian “Todd” passed away. My heart was terribly broken and missed having Todd in our home. I decided to adopt a Pomeranian this time around (we inherited Todd).
I started my search and subsequently ended it at the Annapolis, SPCA. On their website they had a female Pomeranian that could have easily been mistaken for Todd. Same color, same size… basically a female of the Pom we just lost… God was definitely looking down on me. It was instant love and I couldn’t wait to meet her.
Later that day when my oldest daughter came home, we took a trip to the shelter to visit Lily.
My sweet little girl was one of three dogs in the kennel all crowded together. Wow, she was so shy. The volunteer let me and my daughter hold her and I know the bond between us was mutual I could not help but fall madly in love with her. I just knew I had to have her. I filled out all the paperwork and three days (which felt like an eternity) later Lily came home to live with us. So did a little thing called “Kennel Cough”. We got Lily on the mend, and ever since she has been an absolute joy to have in our household. I’m so happy to be a Pommy Mommy again.
Our last Pom used to bark so much. We had Lily for 2 weeks and had yet to hear her bark. One day someone knocked at our door and Lily let out the sweetest bark I ever heard. She is a very low key Pommy who LOVES to be held. Her favorite place in the world is in my lap until she is asked to get down… and she politely gets down.
Lily is truly an amazing companion and I am so happy that I rescued my little girl.

I am another Pommy Mommy with pretty much the same story, and i am so happy you found her, she was ment to be yours, you just didn’t know it. But that first look says words to your heart that you cant explane. Enjoy her every second and i know she will fill your life with love, as you will for her.
I loved your story! It was meant to be!! I love my Pommy and will never live without one!!
I just love rescue stories…especially when sweet little pommys are the ones rescued.

Love this story…
I love hearing wonderful rescue stories. Our home has been so blessed with our rescue pom Taz. He was abandoned after his owner had passed away and was staying on the front porch of a cabin. He had ear mites, worms, fleas and was matted to the skin. After a trip to the vet and groomer we had our precious, happy Taz. Rescues are the best!
Rescue stories are my favorite! Thank you for sharing:)
You’re welcome.
