Today touched me like no other day through Pomeranian bonding. Usually, this time of year is my favorite. However, last year was filled with immense sadness, leaving a mark on me that I couldn’t shake. Little Luka passed away without warning, Mika succumbed to kidney failure, and my little princess Sofia died just before Christmas. The grief from losing three beloved Pomeranians made last year unbearably hard, and I couldn’t wait for it to be over.
This year, on the other hand, has been a completely different story. It’s been exciting and full of joy. Although pregnancy wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be, I received the greatest gift I could have ever imagined: my baby son, Giovanni. Watching him grow is a marvel. He’s three months old now and is every bit his father’s son—staying up late, eating like a horse, and crying like a typical 3-month-old when he’s hungry. He’s a regular chip off the old block, and if I’m being honest, I may have just called his father “old!”
As a Pommy Mommy, my life has always been filled with the joyful chaos of raising Pomeranians. I thought juggling all my furry babies made for a hectic life, but when you throw in a human baby, a puppy mill survivor, and a furry prince, every day feels like Christmas. Today was no exception.
Balancing Business and Baby
My daily schedule revolves around Baby Gio’s feeding routine. He’s growing quickly, and like his dad, he eats constantly. The difference is that while his dad eats and goes to work, Gio eats and goes right to sleep—giving me some time to focus on helping fellow Pommy Mommies.
Today, while Gio was napping in his swing, something extraordinary happened. Our furry baby, Yoki, a survivor of a puppy mill, decided to have a bonding moment with Gio. Over the last five years, we’ve watched Yoki transform from a terrified, skittish puppy into the confident Alpha of our small Pomeranian pack. Her patience, resilience, and curiosity have guided her; today, that curiosity led her to baby Gio.
A Special Pomeranian Bonding Moment
Typically, Yoki keeps her distance from Gio. After all, he’s now teething, constantly moving, and naturally takes center stage. But today, things were different. Yoki’s curiosity got the best of her, and she wanted to learn more about this growing human who, at times, sounds a bit like her.
When no one is around, Yoki often sniffs Gio’s belongings—his blankets, burp cloths, and even the occasional diaper (though she’s smart enough to steer clear of the stinky ones). Today, however, she didn’t sneak around. Instead, as Gio peacefully swung in his swing, Yoki approached him openly. She got up on her hind legs, placed her paw on Gio’s tiny arm, and gently sniffed him.
It was an incredibly tender moment. Yoki stood there, balancing on her hind legs for what felt like forever. I quickly called my husband to come and see. Yoki’s paw stayed on Gio’s arm, and eventually, she rested her head gently on her paw, all while the swing kept moving. We weren’t sure who had more patience—us or her.
Yoki’s Journey of Growth and Confidence
This moment with Yoki made me reflect on the incredible journey we’ve been on with her. Five years ago, she was riddled with anxiety. She barked in terror at the slightest noise, struggled to adapt to new environments, and was nervous around other dogs and people. Years of therapy, diet changes, and unrelenting patience helped her grow into the confident, curious dog she is today.
One of the most significant changes we’ve seen in Yoki’s behavior began when we started feeding her an antioxidant enzyme formula, which eventually became the ENZYMX™ Antioxidant Formula I created. Combined with her raw food diet, this enzyme blend had a calming effect on her brain, helping her manage stress and anxiety. She no longer reacts with fear when the doorbell rings, and people come over, or other dogs bark. Instead, she handles these situations with a newfound confidence.
Seeing Yoki interact with baby Gio today filled me with joy and gratitude. I’m so thankful we discovered the combination of good nutrition, therapy, and love that helped her become the strong, confident dog she is today. Moments like this remind me why I created the EnzymX Antioxidant Formula in the first place—because good food and real nutrition can genuinely change lives.
Lessons Learned from My Pomeranian Bonding Experience
Yoki’s bonding moment with Gio was more than just a cute interaction; it was a reminder of how far she has come and how important it is to never give up on those we love. Great things can happen with patience, love, and proper care.
As a Pommy Mommy, I’ve learned that every Pomeranian (and every child) grows at their own pace. The key is to be patient, provide consistent support, and offer them the tools they need to thrive. Whether working through fear and anxiety or teaching your child about compassion and responsibility, the rewards are always worth the effort.
Watching Yoki bond with Gio today was the culmination of years of hard work, patience, and love. It reinforced my belief that any pet—no matter their past—can flourish in a loving environment with the proper care. And that, to me, is one of the greatest joys of being a Pommy Mommy.
A New Chapter of Joy
As I look back on this day, I feel overwhelmed with gratitude. After the sadness of last year, this year has brought new life and joy into our home. Baby Gio is a gift beyond measure, and watching him grow alongside Yoki and our other Pomeranians is a blessing I never expected.
Today’s Pomeranian bonding moment reminded me that life moves forward, and in that movement, there are moments of grace that make all the challenges worthwhile. I’m grateful for the lessons my Pomeranians—and now my son—have taught me about patience, love, and never giving up.
Life is Full of Surprises
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from being both a Pommy Mommy and a new mom, it’s that life is full of surprises. Whether you’re raising a baby, caring for a rescue dog, or managing the chaos of both, there’s always something to learn and cherish.
Yoki’s Pomeranian bonding experience today showed me the beauty of persistence and the power of love. By providing her with the right therapy, nutrition, and care, we’ve watched her grow into a confident, loving dog who now has the courage to bond with our son. It’s a reminder that great things come to those who wait, love, and never give up.
So here’s to all the Pommy Mommies out there, to the days filled with joy, and to the Pomeranians who teach us so much about patience, love, and resilience.
