If you haven’t already heard about my upcoming wedding to my amazing “Pommy Daddy,” you’re in for a treat! Today, I’m sharing the full inside scoop on how my beloved Pomeranians helped me prepare for the big day. They played a unique role in keeping me company, lifting my spirits, and making the whole experience unforgettable. So, without further ado, here’s how my Poms made the Pommy Mommy Wedding week extra special!
Wedding Week in Las Vegas!
The wedding day was June 23rd at the iconic MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada! As the Pommy Mommy Wedding day approached, our usual routine took a bit of a turn, and of course, the Pomeranians were the first to notice. About three days before the big day, the girls could sense something was happening because our typical rhythm had changed. Usually, after their morning feeding, I’d make breakfast for the “humans” in the house, and the girls would happily beg for a piece of bacon.
However, the week of the wedding was a whirlwind. We were always on the go, so we had to eat on the run instead of our leisurely breakfast at home! Unfortunately for the girls, that meant no bacon begging, but don’t worry—I gave them plenty of treats to make up for it!
Doubling Up for Wedding Week
Despite all the busyness, the girls were involved throughout the wedding week. In true Pomeranian fashion, they followed me everywhere, curious about everything I did with the wedding items. Whether it was decorations or clothes, the Poms were always close by, sniffing and investigating.
One day, Maggie doubled her efforts by “helping” me with my shoes. I had just bought a fancy new pair to go with my short white wedding dress, and as soon as they entered the house, Maggie was all over them! She sniffed every inch and decided to claim them by sitting beside them. I couldn’t resist snapping a picture of her with the shoes—I’m convinced she wanted to keep them!
Sophia Helps Hem the Dress (Or So I Thought)
While Maggie was busy with the shoes, Sophia took her turn helping with the wedding prep. I had my dress out, ready to do some last-minute hemming, so I set Sophia on the bed and explained what I was doing (because I talk to my Poms like they’re people). At first, she seemed interested, sniffing the thread curiously. But then she turned her nose up, walked away, and gave me a look that said, “Sorry, Mommy, you’re on your own!”
Sophia shares my disdain for sewing. She wasn’t in the mood to help, but her little presence on the bed was all I needed to keep me going. Even if she didn’t pitch in with the needle and thread, she was still my trusty companion, ensuring I wasn’t alone during the hectic Pommy Mommy Wedding prep.
A Special Visit from Aunt Christy
One of the week’s highlights was the excitement surrounding the arrival of my sister, Aunt Christy! She lives in Ohio and adores the girls. Whenever we talk on Skype, I let the Poms “visit” with her over the computer—they love it! So, when I told the girls that Aunt Christy was coming to Las Vegas for the Pommy Mommy Wedding, they were ecstatic.
When Aunt Christy finally arrived, the girls had plenty of cuddle time. We spent hours outside by the pond, enjoying the sunshine and catching up. The Poms were in their element, soaking up all the attention and love from their favorite aunt. It was such a particular time, and having my sister there made everything feel even more perfect.
Pomeranian Love on the Big Day
As the Pommy Mommy Wedding day approached, the girls stayed by my side, offering their furry companionship and endless affection. Their presence helped calm my pre-wedding jitters and reminded me of the joy and love of the day. From helping me prepare in their unique way to cuddling with Aunt Christy, my Pomeranians made the entire experience much more memorable.
The wedding itself was magical, but looking back, the days leading up to it, filled with little Pomeranian moments, were just as special. These fluffy little helpers were there through it all, making sure I had a smile even during the busiest times.
A Forever Bond
Now that the Pommy Mommy Wedding has come and gone, I can’t help but reflect on how much my Pomeranians mean to me. They’ve been with me through all of life’s big moments, and this was no different. The bond I share with them is truly one-of-a-kind, and they made the lead-up to the wedding so much fun and filled with love.
As I start this new chapter with my wonderful husband, I know that Maggie, Sophia, and the rest of the Pomeranian crew will continue to be a massive part of our lives. They are more than just pets—they’re family. And while they didn’t walk down the aisle with me, they were there in spirit, making the entire week unforgettable.
The Best Wedding Prep Partners Ever
Preparing for a wedding can be stressful, but having my Pomeranians by my side made it a joyful and heartwarming experience. They added laughter and love to every moment, from Maggie’s shoe-sniffing adventures to Sophia’s not-so-helpful sewing attempts. And, of course, their excitement over seeing Aunt Christy brought even more happiness to the wedding week.
For all the Pommy Mommies out there, you know exactly what I mean when I say that life is just better with Pomeranians by your side. They bring so much joy, love, and companionship into our lives—in my case, they made wedding week an absolute delight.
Thank you for sharing in this special journey with me and my reascue Pomeranians! Here’s to many more adventures with these lovable, fluffy companions!
