Meet Barkley the Pom
Hello, world! My name is Barkley the Pom, and I’m a full-bred Pomeranian with a personality as big as my heart. Born on November 4th, 2012, I weigh a tiny 4.5 pounds and stand at a towering (okay, maybe not that towering) 9 inches at the shoulder. I’m not sure why you need to know my shoulder height, but now you do! Let me take you on a journey of my fabulous life, packed with adventures, love, and a lot of fun.
A Pommy Traveler
I consider myself one of the luckiest dogs in the world. Why? Because my amazing Pommy family takes me everywhere. That’s right, Barkley the Pom is a globetrotter! I have my own Pommy suitcase that holds all my favorite toys, clothes, and gear. Wherever I go, I make friends—whether they’re humans or fellow dogs. I have this theory that we Poms are as big as we feel; trust me, I feel like a giant!
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. From jammin’ with Bob Marley tunes to pranking humans for laughs, every trip is an adventure. You might even catch me on social media or TV from time to time! The bigger the crowd, the better because I love being around people, especially the tiniest humans. I’m super affectionate and adore all humans, big and small.
Barkley the Pom: Full of Love and Laughter
One of the things that makes Barkley the Pom unique is how vocal I am. I don’t just bark—I squeak, gnarl, grumble, grunt, and snarl. Don’t worry, though—it’s all in good fun. I’m just expressing myself, and trust me, I have a lot to say. My sounds might differ, but they’re always friendly because I’m all about love!
When I’m not chewing on sticks or chasing birds (the best free things in life), I’m usually up to mischief, pranking humans for entertainment. But deep down, I’m just here to spread joy and make people smile. My motto? Life is better when it’s filled with laughter, love, and a little bit of playfulness.
Giving Back to My Fellow Canines
While my life is full of love and adventure, I never forget about my fellow canines who are still waiting for their forever homes. Wherever I go, I make it a point to visit local animal shelters. I believe every dog deserves love, attention, and an excellent human to care for them. Meeting my furry friends at the shelters is always a highlight of my travels, and I love sharing their stories with the world.
The volunteers and employees who run these shelters for rescue Pomeranians are some of the most inspiring people I’ve ever met. They work tirelessly to care for the dogs, and I can’t give them enough credit. Thanks to them, I get to meet other dogs and help spread the word about adoption. Barkley the Pom is on a mission to help more dogs find loving homes, and I’m building a list on my website to guide potential adopters to suitable dog shelters.
Barkley the Pom’s Mission: Encouraging Adoption
One of the coolest things my human and I do is pick up dogs from the shelter and take them on walks with us. It’s not only fun, but it also gives these dogs a much-needed break from the shelter environment. We want to encourage others to do the same because there’s always a need for help at shelters, and volunteering is a ton of fun! Trust me, spending time with a shelter dog will bring you so much joy.
If you’re considering adopting a Pomeranian—or any dog for that matter—take it from Barkley the Pom: you will never have a bad day as long as you have a Pomeranian. We’re full of energy, love, and loyalty. We may be small, but we bring much happiness into our families’ lives.
Spreading Love, One Paw at a Time
Barkley isn’t just about having fun and looking cute (although I do excel at both). I also want to make a difference in the world by encouraging more people to consider adoption; whether Pomeranian or not, dogs deserve a loving family and a place to call home.
Volunteering at shelters is one of the best ways to give back. Whether walking the dogs, playing with them, or simply spending time with them, you’ll make a world of difference. And if you’re ready to adopt, you’ll find that your new furry friend will repay you with unconditional love for the rest of their life.
Barkley the Pom: The Life of the Party
As you can tell, Barkley the Pom is not your average dog. I love living life to the fullest and sharing that joy with everyone around me. Whether hanging out at home with my human, playing dress-up, or traveling to a new city, I bring my playful energy wherever I go. But my favorite moments are when I get to make a difference, whether by making someone laugh or helping a fellow dog in need.
To all my fellow Pommy Mommies and Daddies out there: never underestimate the power of love and laughter. Your Pomeranian will fill your life with both, and I promise you won’t regret it. And if you’re thinking about adopting, remember that there’s a Pomeranian (or another furry friend) out there waiting for you to bring them home.
One Love, One Pom
In closing, I want to say that being Barkley the Pom is pretty awesome. I’m living my best life, surrounded by love, laughter, and adventure. But I never forget where I came from, and I’m always thinking about my friends in the shelters who are still waiting for their forever homes.
If you’re lucky enough to have a Pomeranian, you already know how special we are. If you’re considering adopting one, I can assure you that life will never be the same—in the best way possible. We Pomeranians may be small, but we’ve got big hearts and are all about spreading love wherever we go.
So here’s to all the Pomeranians out there, living life to the fullest and making the world a better place, one wagging tail at a time. And here’s to you for being part of our journey. One love, one Pom!
Rest In Peace, Barkley. Barkley died of a freak accident on October 25, 2015.
