The World According to Maggie – 8lbs of Pomeranian Love

The Joy of Being a Pommy Mommy

MaggieI can’t even begin to describe the wonderful experiences I’ve had as a Pommy Mommy. Maggie, without a doubt, was one of the greatest joys of my life. She and her sister came to us as a bonded pair, fulfilling my dream of having two sister Pomeranians. From the moment we brought Maggie home, it was clear she was a special soul.

Maggie’s Playful and Independent Spirit

Maggie had a unique personality. She wasn’t too fond of men, which was fine with me since I spent most of the time with her and her sister, Sheika. While Sheika quickly warmed up to my fiancé, Maggie was smarter—she took her time. Occasionally, she’d nip him on the nose when he got too close, which, while not his favorite, still makes us laugh today. Eventually, Maggie stopped nipping and warmed up to him, but her bond with me remained special. It’s just how us girls roll.

Maggie Loved to Play Dress Up!

MaggieMaggie seemed like she had been taught by Gandhi himself. Once she got comfortable in her surroundings, she created a playful and peaceful environment, not just for Sheika, but for the two rescue Poms we adopted after Sheika passed. Maggie became a calming presence for all of us. She was strong, full of life, and more than just a dog—she was truly inspirational.

Knowing Maggie came from an abusive past and yet became so loving and affectionate was the best part of my day, especially when I worked at the bank. I could always count on Maggie to be ready for cuddles, playtime, or just to flash that awesome smile she had. Thinking about her now still makes me smile.

Maggie’s Las Vegas Adventures

Las VegasWhen we moved to Las Vegas, we did everything we could to make Maggie happy. She loved grass, so her daddy planted a lawn just for her. Even though her constant peeing turned the grass brown, her daddy worked tirelessly to keep it green. Maggie brought us so much happiness that we wanted to do anything we could to return the favor.

This dedication even extended to the Pommy Mommy treats. We always wanted the best food for her and her adopted sisters, so I started crafting recipes to make sure Maggie enjoyed her treats. Maggie had a way of letting me know when she didn’t like something—she’d try it, spit it out, and walk away, only to come back and give me a look as if to say, “I know you can do better!” She made me want to be a better person, and that’s something rare, even with humans.

Maggie’s Unwavering Support

Unwavering supportWhen my fiancé and I went through tough times, she was always there. She’d console me with her loving licks, kisses, and comforting spirit. It lifted my mood and created a better environment for us to work things out. Maggie had the same effect on my husband, too. When he worked too much, she would stroll into his office and demand a break, and he always gave in—thanks to her, his day was always brighter.

A Pommy Fashion Star

Fashion ShowSome Pomeranians don’t like dressing up, but Maggie loved it. Every week felt like a Pomeranian Fashion Show, with her proudly showing off her latest outfit. It was a joy to see her prancing around in her pretty little dresses, and it always made me smile.

Maggie also had a thing for bags. Whether it was a dog carrier or my big Louis Vuitton bags, she loved to pop her head out and say, “Look at me!” One day, while shopping, I came across a beautiful Michael Kors dog carrier and knew Maggie would love it. Sure enough, as soon as we got home, she jumped right in and refused to get out. Maggie’s joyful antics filled our home with laughter and happiness.

Cherishing the Memories

I wish Maggie was still with us, but I am so grateful for the four and a half years we had together. She brought so much love, joy, and laughter into our lives, and her memory will always live on in my heart.
